Anthropologie Online Return Policy (What´s Covered + More)

Anthropologie Online Return Policy

Have you ever asked yourself or your friend what Anthropologie’s online return policy is? Well, you are at the perfect place to find the answer to such a question.

Anthropologie holds status not only as a retailer of fine women’s clothing and accessories but moreover as a lifestyle brand. However, some buyers or gift recipients may occasionally wish to return or exchange an item. In such cases, it’s important to know their return policy.

According to Anthropologie’s online return policy, if customers return items within 30 days, they can receive a full refund on their purchase. Returns made after 30 days, however, will only receive store credit. Anthropologie only makes exceptions during the holiday season.

This seems reasonable, but those with returns to make will want to keep reading for further details.

Anthropologie’s Stance on Returns After 30 Days

During the holidays, Anthropologie will excuse the 30-day limit on full refunds. Purchases made from October until the end of the year will receive a grace period until January 31st.

During this extended timeframe, items may be refunded or exchanged at full value. After this period ends, they return to their typical 30-day return policy.

Anthropologie credits all refunds in accordance with the original purchase method. If paying by card, it will take up to 3 business days for the money to appear in your account.

Anthropologie’s Return Policy for Online Purchases

Without a paper receipt, returns must first be made by locating the order number online. Their website will then allow you to print a label and return slip, which must be included with the item you’re returning.

After sending the item back, it will take Anthropologie 1-2 weeks for processing, followed by another 1-3 days before the money returns to your account.

Returns made online are not free unless eligible for exchange. Anthropologie will deduct a shipping charge of $5.95 from all refundable items shipped to their warehouses.

Furthermore, note that return labels can only be printed for orders that were originally shipped to addresses within the continental United States.

If this seems like too much hassle, Anthropologie does allow customers to return online items to their in-store locations.

The only exceptions to this allowance besides the previously mentioned bridal sets and wedding gowns are furniture pieces eligible for Anthropologie’s Unlimited Furniture Delivery.

The above items are still eligible for return by shipping them to Anthropologie’s warehouses. They simply cannot be returned to a store unless purchased offline.

The only items ineligible for return are the same as those excluded from Anthropologie’s in-store return policy, such as face masks and menstrual cups.

Do Online Returns Follow the 30-Day Limit?

Anthropologie’s website adheres to the same 30-day return policy as their in-store locations. This means that purchases returned within 30 days are eligible for full refunds or exchanges, while returns made after this period remain eligible for store credit only.

Fortunately, the same exceptions apply as well. This means that those purchasing from Anthropologie’s website from October 1st to December 31st will have until the end of January to make their return before they are limited to store credit.

Are There Other Exceptions to the 30-Day Limit?

While there are indeed exceptions to the 30-day limit outside of the holiday season, they do not allow customers to bend or break the return policy. In fact, these exceptions actually limit customers’ ability to return or exchange an item.

For instance, anything sold on sale at a price ending in $.95 will be deemed non-returnable. Anthropologie will also not accept returns of non-reusable items such as face masks and items pertaining to menstruation or sexual wellness.

Bridal sets may be returned within 30 days, provided they are returned to the site of purchase. However, all sales of wedding gowns or bridal sets with prices ending in $.99 will be deemed final.

How Do You Return a Product to Anthropologie?

The method of return depends largely upon the method and location of purchase. For instance, items purchased at a Curated by Anthropologie location cannot be returned to stores belonging to the main Anthropologie branch.

Likewise, bridal attire may only be returned to a brick-and-mortar location if it was bought in person.

For all returns, you must have your receipt. You may also use your receipt to receive a price adjustment on any item that goes on sale within 14 days of buying it at full price.

Note that this changes slightly when returning items ordered online.

How Do You Exchange Items at Anthropologie?

Exchanging items at Anthropologie requires the same process as having an item refunded. You must be able to furnish your receipt if exchanging in person or print a return slip if exchanging an item procured online.

The 30-day limit will apply as well. Beyond this timeframe, items may only be exchanged for store credit.

While exchanging for store credit may hardly sound different from a typical exchange, the 30-day limit does carry additional weight when exchanging items online.

For these transactions, the exchange must be made within 30 days in order for the customer to print their return label for free.

The reason for exchange may also differ between online and in-store purchases. Both purchase methods allow for exchanges within the first 30 days if you would prefer a different item, or if you would like the same item in a different color.

Online exchanges, however, extend further to include order processing errors that result in the customer receiving the wrong item.

You may also exchange items that were damaged upon receipt, even if the blame rests on the parcel carrier rather than Anthropologie themselves.

Conclusion

Anthropologie’s return policy is relatively straightforward, and generous in some ways while restrictive in others. Remember, however, that unique situations call for unique exceptions.

Even after 30 days, you may wish to keep your receipt in case you encounter issues with a product. Depending on the circumstance, a kind manager may work with you.

That said, it pays to follow the rules. Never wait to try on clothing purchased online and keep the order confirmation in your inbox.

While they may provide refunds after 30 days if asked kindly enough, it’s better to avoid the need for such exceptions altogether.
