Abercrombie Return Policy without Tags

Do you know what Abercrombie’s return policy without tags is? Well, you are at the perfect place to find the answer to such a question.

Sometimes, after buying a new item of clothing, you may need to return it if it’s defective or incorrect.

If so, it’s always good to know the company’s return policy so that you’re aware of your options. Here’s everything that’s covered under the Abercrombie & Fitch return policy.

According to Abercrombie’s return policy, If you’re not happy with your item, you can return it within 60 days for a full refund even without tags. In the event that the clothes have been worn, altered, or washed, are ineligible for returns.

Return policies are important to keep in mind so that you know what you can and can’t return, as well as what not to do if you want to return an item.

The rest of this article will cover all the important details about the Abercrombie & Fitch return policy.

What Is Abercrombie’s Return Policy?

Abercrombie breaks up their return policy into two parts: returns before 30 days and returns after 30 days.

If you return your item in good condition to their Distribution Center within 30 days, you will receive a refund in the original method that you paid. Paying by debit/credit card, for example, will result in a refund issued straight to your account.

Returns that are processed more than 30 days after the last shipment associated with your order are refunded to an Abercrombie credit issued to the email address you used to fill out your order.

Keep in mind that Abercrombie will not accept returns or exchanges after 60 days, and if you don’t have an invoice, receipt, or order confirmation, then you won’t be able to get your refund.

What Is Abercrombie’s Exchange Policy?

Abercrombie lets you exchange any item you don’t want that’s still in a resalable condition for another, assuming you have your receipt, invoice, and order confirmation.

As such, if something isn’t quite right, you’ll need to head to your nearest A&F store and ask the returns department for an exchange.

They will walk you through the rest of the process to help you complete your exchange without a hitch.

How Do I Make an Online Return or Exchange?

If you want to exchange something online, you certainly can. Start on their Returns page and select your preferred carrier. Filling out this information helps you and A&F track the order to completion.

Once you’ve filled out your carrier info, A&F will send you an email with a return label. You can also use the pre-printed label that came with your order invoice.

After reaching this point, you have the option to add additional security tracking to your order. Regardless of what happens in the mail, the returned item is your responsibility until it reaches Abercrombie & Fitch.

What Happens If My Package Gets Lost or Damaged?

If the carrier mishandles the item and damages, it, or the item gets lost in the mail, A&F might not issue a refund. Of course, it’s not your fault that the item went missing or was damaged, but A&F has no way of confirming that.

As such, adding additional security might be a wise option so that you can track the progress of your package all the way through its journey. There is a flat $7 fee that will be deducted from your refund for this service.

On the bright side, exchanges are completely free of charge, and, if you’re returning multiple items, then that flat $7 fee covers everything you’re returning.

Just make sure that you only create one Digital Return form; otherwise, Abercrombie’s computer system will mistakenly think you’re issuing multiple separate returns and charge you multiple times for the security fee.

Once you’ve dropped off your returned item to the carrier of your choice, you’ll need to wait up to 3 weeks for the item to arrive and be processed at the Distribution Center before your refund is issued.

One exception to Abercrombie’s return policy is that merchandise purchases with the Same Day Delivery shipping cannot be digitally exchanged for another item.

Do You Need a Receipt to Return Abercrombie Clothing?

You will need your receipt, order invoice, and confirmation details for each individual order in your return package. Not providing these may result in the item being sent back to you at your expense.

Unfortunately, Abercrombie’s return policy is a little vague on items that can be returned without a tag. Their refund policy states that some merchandise comes with a tag that must remain attached for the item to be returned.

It doesn’t specify what those items are, so it’s definitely worth getting in touch with Customer Support if you’ve already removed the tags on an item you want to return to see what your options are.

How to Return an Item with Cash

Unfortunately, paying with cash leaves you little in the way of luxury for returning your items.

If your original payment method was using cash, returns, or cancellations will generate an email prompting you to return to an A&F store before 10 days elapses to get your money back.

If you can’t make it back to the store in that time, A&F will issue a credit to your account via an electronic gift card to the email address that you used for the order.

How Long Do A&F Refunds Take?

Unfortunately, a lot of the wait time for shipping refunds is down to the shipping. A&F suggests allowing 3-4 weeks for your item to arrive at the distribution center.

After that, the return needs to be processed before a refund is issued. Once done, the money should appear via your original method of payment within 3-5 business days.

Final Thoughts

Abercrombie & Fitch sells a lot of great products, but if you need to make a return, you have to meet some criteria.

Any items that are damaged, tampered with, or visibly worn cannot be returned, and you will need your order invoice, receipt, and any associated tags to get your refund.
