AEG Warranty Claim (Successfully File A Claim By Yourself)

AEG Warranty Claim

Jessica, do you know what AEG warranty claim is or how to successfully file a claim by yourself? This is one of the questions our readers ask a lot. Well, we´ve got you covered.

AEG is a German company, founded in 1887 and they came up with the world’s first automatic washing machine, so they deserve quite a bit of credit. But sometimes, things go wrong and you need to file a warranty claim. Fortunately, AEG offers a 2-year warranty. But how do you claim it?

The first thing you need to do is register your product. It makes the filing process much easier. After that, You need to contact AEG directly by visiting their online portal or calling 03445 611 611. It’s a UK-based phone number so international charges will apply if you’re calling from the states.

In fact, if you live in the United States and want to file a warranty claim, the online portal link above is the easiest way to go.

That way you can avoid international charges or contacting your cell carrier. If you live in the UK, you’re good to go.

How to File a Warranty Claim with AEG

AEG’s warranty claim service is fairly easy to navigate. You have a choice (as listed above) between going online or making a phone call.

AEG will attempt to repair your appliance unless the thing has just fallen completely apart and is hopeless.

  • Go to AEG’s Warranty Claim Page
  • Make sure your appliance is registered
  • Choose from one of the three repair options (In-Warranty Repair, Fixed-Price Repair, or Repair and Care)
  • Select an available date
  • Technicians will arrive and repair or replace your appliance

That’s it. That’s all there is to it. AEG practices a pretty simple methodology and that means allowing the consumer to control everything on their end as far as time, date, and what needs to be done.

The only thing the consumer doesn’t control is what the technician needs to do.

If you or the technician determine that the appliance needs to be replaced, the technician will arrange for the shipping, free of cost to you, and will even arrange for a professional installation of the new appliance when it arrives.

You barely have to do anything outside of sitting down at your computer or making a phone call. The Repair and Care option is a part of the extended warranty program. It’s like having insurance except you don’t have to pay a deductible.

If you are a monthly subscriber, repair or replacement is all a part of the monthly payments you make through your subscription.

What Warranty Does AEG Offer?

Well, AEG actually offers more than one warranty. Their 2-year warranty is their standard and applies to most of their appliances. However, they also offer a 5-year warranty, which usually comes with appliances associated with a retailer promotion.

In other words, it matters where you purchase your AEG because that particular retailer may net you a 5-year warranty rather than a 2-year. Three years is a huge difference when you want something that’s really going to last.

AEG also offers an extended warranty, which is the consumer’s choice whether or not they want it. AEG doesn’t go with a traditional extension, such as a year or 6 months.

Instead, they offer a subscription plan model that goes on for as long as you want to subscribe.

The manufacturer’s warranty includes free repair, so you don’t necessarily have to get your appliance replaced if it can be repaired.

Fortunately, the process for filing a warranty claim is exactly the same, whether you want the repair or need the replacement.

AEG offers free repairs, full replacement if it can’t be repaired, zero shipping costs for the consumer, expert technicians, only AEG original parts for repair, and an excellent customer support infrastructure.

Extend Your Warranty

Under the Extend Your Warranty option, you can choose to pay a monthly subscription payment to keep your warranty coverage going as long as you are willing to pay.

You get most of the same offerings that are covered under the standard warranty, including the following:

  • The appliance is covered as far as faults are concerned or even accidental mishaps
  • AEG-approved technicians are available when needed
  • All replacement parts are original parts manufactured by AEG
  • Continued, standard warranty protection after your standard warranty expires

Five-Year Warranty

Five-year warranties are the same as two-year warranties, with the exception of an additional three years.

If the product is not registered, you will need your proof of purchase with you if you want to file a claim.

All of the warranty coverages that come with AEG’s standard, two-year warranty, including the following:

  • Free repair or replacement options for failing or faulty appliances
  • Full replacement in case an appliance cannot be repaired
  • Free transportation and shipping costs
  • Top-quality customer support
  • Trained and experienced technicians only
  • Original AEG replacement parts only

Not only do you get all of the warranty options of a two-year plan, but you also get it for an additional three years.

Why You Should Register Your Appliance

Registering your appliance is necessary in case of any safety recalls or notifications concerning your appliance.

It also involves making an account and having your appliance information ready and available in the event you have to file a claim.

It’s much easier to file a claim when all of your information is already there. AEG highly recommends registering your appliance through them.

Not only will you receive the latest product information, but you will also streamline your warranty claims, along with the option to sign up for AEG’s email communication.

There are three ways you can register your appliance on AEG’s website—enter your model number, enter your product number, or take a picture of your appliance’s PNC sticker and upload it to AEG’s site.

  • Go to the AEG “Register Your Product” page
  • Locate the product label on your appliance
  • On the same page, enter your model or product number or upload a photo
  • Select the “Register This Product” option when it pops up
  • Enter your login information on the next page or create an account with AEG

You can also register your AEG product over the phone by calling 0800 952 1000.

Exceptions to AEG Warranties

Of course, as there is with everything, exceptions are a part of the process. For instance, you probably can’t file a warranty claim if you kick in the front of your washing machine or dryer.

Most of AEG’s exceptions are focused on the specific country in that AEG has a manufacturing facility.

However, for those who want to purchase an AEG warranty extension, you need to have an appliance that is no older than 8 years.

It also cannot have any pre-existing faults. In other words, you can’t wait for your dryer to completely fail before you call in (or visit the website) and try to get an extended warranty coverage.

Warranty coverage will often extend to accidental damage but, as we stated above, damage that’s caused to an appliance in a purposeful manner will probably not be covered.

Accidental damage is usually good but you may run into problems if there is blatant, obvious, and exponential damage to the appliance.

There’s a difference between accidental damage and completely neglectful damage. For instance, never changing your dryer filter can eventually cause an entire chain reaction of damage.

That’s accidental since you wouldn’t intend to blow up your dryer. However, not changing the dryer filter out is also completely neglectful.

These issues will be resolved during the question and answer session with your service representative when you file your claim and by the technician who inspects the damage later on.

All Things Considered

Filing a warranty with AEG is astonishingly easy, especially with how convoluted most companies attempt to make the process these days.

The way most companies probably figure it, the more frustrating the process, the least likely the consumer will pursue it to its conclusion.

Fortunately, you don’t have to worry about that with AEG. The process is simple, and you get to control how and where things go.

As business sayings go, “the customer is always right,” and AEG follows that policy.
