Can You Test to See If AliExpress Will Accept a Prepaid Card Prior to Purchasing?

At the time of this writing, we did a small experiment to see if AliExpress would accept our prepaid card.

This was very successful, and they confirm the accuracy of the card prior to hitting the “place order” button. So, if you have any doubts about your card, you should be able to check that it will work before buying anything.

However, it’s advisable that you put something in your cart before you wade through their huge catalog of merchandise.

It would be a waste of time to go through all of that, put everything you want in your cart and then only come to find out your prepaid card won’t work.

Why Do Some Forms of Payment Not Go Through on AliExpress?

There are times that, even when your card checks out, your payment will not go through.

This is the result of two potential reasons: they don’t allow that form of payment from your country or the order is less than $20 (USD).

If the country from where you’re ordering doesn’t have a particular form of payment available, you will not be able to process it through AliExpress.

For example, Yandex Money is a Russian-based financial institution and, therefore, wouldn’t be available in places like Canada or the United States.

Another cause could be if your order total doesn’t meet the $20 minimum requirement. AliExpress will refuse payments made by bank transfer, wire transfer or Western Union.

For paying this way, you must have a cart totaling more than $20, even after discounts apply to the cart.
